Holmfry's News

Hey everyone!

I'm slowly getting my art section up and running. It's pretty much just a matter of tracking down and scanning in all the stuff I've done over the years (I've got everything from ink and conté stick drawings to etching plates and paintings and even cartoons that I've done in storage in my basement), so right now all that's up there is some old stuff that I had archived in my email.

I'm going to be uploading a bunch of pixel art soon as well (it's my favorite) so stay tuned!

I DO ART, TOO!

UPDATE: Due to lack of submissions received, I've had to cancel the Game & Watch Collab.

Hey everyone!

I'm hosting a Game & Watch collab! The goal is to end up with a nice little Game & Watch collection kinda like this, a bunch of old skool games combined into one afternoon-wasting ubergame!

For more examples on what the heck Game & Watch is, check out this awesome site. This site is a great time waster/source of information on G&W!

For full details and rules for the collab, or to get involved, check out the official forum thread here.

Holy poopers!

Joystiq.com contacted me recently and requested an email interview which resulted in this article:

Ocean Scenes developer gives inside look into XNA platform

The good news for Newgrounds? I made sure to drop the Newgrounds.com name several times in the article.. giving credit where credit is due. They helped me (and many others) get my start in game development.

Give the article a read and thanks again, Newgrounds! :)

I've been INTERVIEWED on Joystiq.com!!!

Our first Xbox Community Games title, Ocean Scenes, has placed #3 in the top 10 Community Games (full versions purchased) for the week of January 26th, moving up one spot since last week!

I know I very likely have a lot of you Newgrounders to thank for this.. THANK YOU!! :)

Also, if you haven't hopped aboard the Ocean Scenes train yet, check it out below! :)

My Xbox 360 Gadget is number 3!

It's called Ocean Scenes. Well, it's not really a game so much as a gadget.. basically it's an ambient experience I've created, that makes your TV look like you're looking out a window onto some nice beach scenes, complete with moving waves, customizable scenery and different sound options. Great to have on when you have friends over for a few drinks or you're sitting around playing Risk or something. Also wonderful when you have a *ahem* ladyfriend over... ;)

If you have an xbox, go ahead and queue up the trial version for download on this page, or if you feel like supporting a fellow Newgrounder and have 200 MS points floating around, you could always grab the full version ;)

You can also grab the game straight from your Xbox 360 console in the marketplace, of course. You'll find it under Game Marketplace>Community Games>New Arrivals.

I've got a full-on game in the works (see my previous news post), so keep your eyes open and your MS points loaded ;)

Thanks everyone!

I released an Xbox 360 game!

Howdy y'all!

Just wanted to mention that Holmade Games (aka me) is now working on an Xbox 360 Community game! Once completed, it will be available for purchase and download on Xbox Live! (So save those MS points, Xbox owners!)

Here's the first screenshot! More details will be added as they become available! :)

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Here's some Christmas magic for you! In Dodgeman 2, if you hover your mouse at the top right corner of the main menu, you will find the Bonus Level menu! Currently, we have only one bonus level up - the Christmas level.. but see if you can guess what the other levels might be and when they might be up ;)

If you finish the Christmas level, you might just get another little surprise!

Enjoy, and happy holidays!

Merry Christmas!

Dodgeman 2 has been completed and released on the Flash Portal! Give it a try, see if you can get both good and bad endings, top the high score list and find the hidden level! Have fun!
