We have a surprise game announcement for you today with Hurdle Turtle, our latest Xbox Live Indie Game which is currently going through the final playtest/review phase before it is released on the Xbox Live Marketplace in the next few weeks. Summary: "Slow and steady wins the race?" That's for chumps! For this turtle, it's all about pure speed and sweet spin jumps! Compete in the ultimate hurdle challenge solo, or take it on with a buddy for some intense multiplayer action in this survival marathon of madness! Modeled after the games of yesteryear, this is the second entry in the Holmade Games 8-Bit Series.

Hey everyone! As of March 25th, we've officially dropped the price of Pixel Whirled, our Xbox Live Indie Game, to 80 Microsoft Points (1$)! To celebrate this occasion, we're hosting an old timey screenshot photo contest, just like back in the pre-internet leaderboard days!

Here's how it works: After finishing the game, you unlock the 2nd Quest which contains alternate, more difficult levels. After beating the 2nd Quest, email us a digital photo of the winning screen, with you standing next to it giving a thumbs up to prove your awesomeness! Whoever sends in the highest final score will win an exclusive physical prize, which will be mailed directly to your house free of charge! Can you say swag? ;)

There is also a cheat code to unlock the 2nd Quest instantly.. at the main menu, hold down LB and RB and press Back. To access the 2nd Quest, you'll have to have unlocked the full version of the game. We would like to warn you that the 2nd Quest is not for the meek. You will have to bring your A-Game in order to beat this challenge!

Entry Rules and Stuff:

1. The screenshot does not have to include the entire screen, but please be sure the final score (and your face and thumbs up!) is visible in your submission!

2. The exact details of the mystery prize will be devulged when a winner is selected.

3. In the case of a tie, the entry received first will win.

4. The winning submission will be posted on blog.holmadegames.com.

5. If you haven't downloaded the game yet, you can find both the trial and full versions on Xbox Live Marketplace.

6. Send your submissions to contests@holmadegames.com, with the subject "PW Screenshot Contest". Be sure to include your full mailing address so you can receive your prize!

7. Contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world!

After a short .. 2 year long.. hiatus, we've officially resumed our efforts on our 8-bit demake of God of War, titled Bit of War! Re-inspired by Eric Ruth's Left 4 Dead demake, and excited by the Pandora's Box that will soon arrive on my porch, the time feels right to reignite the flames that fuel this project.

Bit of War is a downloadable PC game and, when complete, will be available for free on our website! The project is currently slated for a release date of sometime before Duke Nukem Forever.

Just wanted to take a second to officially announce my next Xbox Indie Games title, Pixel Whirled! Like most of the games I make, this one is heavily retro-inspired. (Because I just can't get over those wonderful 8-bit days..) It's a shooter, kind of like playing 2 games of Space Invaders at once and featuring 8-bit styled graphics, and music licensed from Walz Music.

It's currently in the final review phase and, if everything goes well, should be out in the next 1 - 3 weeks. I'll post again when it's live, but for now check out this promotional website I put together with screenshots, info, downloads and a trailer starring me!
